Yacoobi Private Hospital
|
The Professor Sakena Yacoobi Private Hospital opened in 2011 and provided health services for those who can afford it and also to those who cannot. The hospital served the poor and provided services to them at little or no cost. The facility has a laboratory, pharmacy and surgical, x-ray, CT scan capabilities, and specialists in internal medicine, maternity, and orthopedics. The hospital is arranged on four floors and totals 1,192 sq meters where approximately 2,000 patients can be seen each day from all over the southwest region of the country. The hospital is now an independent entity with monitoring and advisory roles retained by Dr. Yacoobi.

Dr. Yacoobi believes in supporting private sector development in Afghanistan as part of a balanced, self-supporting economy and in promoting the attitude of self-care and responsibility in patients who can contribute financially to their care. Afghans look forward to the day when their society is completely rebuilt and functioning efficiently and effectively providing opportunity for all.
