Afghan Private Enterprises
Dr. Sakena Yacoobi has been working with Afghans for decades and believes in the goal of self-sufficiency for Afghan communities and institutions. She has developed a program building private enterprises in Afghanistan that rebuild and improve the education and health systems in the country. She wants private enterprise to succeed and become self-sufficient. CHI helps by providing support and technical assistance to Dr. Yacoobi's four private schools, a private TV and radio station and private hospital. The schools and hospital have now become self-sufficient. Radio Meraj, started in 2015, is already one of the top 3 radio stations in Herat and has attracted advertising as it moves to self-sufficiency. Dr. Yacoobi's latest project is a women's university in Herat. |
